Municipal property, the Cemetery of Castanheira de Pera attracts attention mainly for its oldest part, an area where dozens of tombs are found (namely those of Chapel) that are distinguished by the detail and architectural richness that they bear.

In addition, part of these tombs and graves belong to personalities and families of reference at the local, regional, national level and even in other countries, as is the case of the Viscounts of Nova Granada, recognized for the charitable works they did in São Paulo (Brazil) and in Castanheira de Pera.
