Cabeço do Peão - Chapel of Santo António

Booking

Climbing to Cabeço do Peão, at 539 meters, you can observe a vast panorama with the whimsical outline of the Gardunha, Estrela, Muradal, Vila de Rei, and Lousã mountain ranges. Going to Cabeço do Peão also requires a mandatory stop at "SEME", an artistic installation by Bosoletti, created under the “Esporo” (Spore) project, which demands a prolonged and reflective pause. It is also an opportunity to discover the "Casa do Povo, do Povo da Pedra" (House of the People, of the Stone People), a work carried out under the “Territórios de Pedra” (Stone Territories) project, which enhances our local culture. Here, there is a walkway of about 100 meters that connects the upper part of the town to the Municipal Forest, in the Tennis Courts area, thus enabling exclusively pedestrian access. There are pedestrian paths marked with directional arrows and Panels or Totems identifying the area, thus allowing better orientation and information for those who visit and explore this space. It is possible to observe native trees such as holly, oaks, cork oaks, and strawberry trees, enhancing the urban green space and promoting the creation of appealing and usable green areas for the population and visitors. There are several picnic areas where picnics can be held.
