Pena - Schist Village
Booking
In love with the rocks.
Sheltered by the Penedos de Góis, of which the "Penedo Abelha" (“Bee Rock”) stands out, a name given by the locals, which in the opinion of some takes the form of the face of a stone monster (cliffs that reach 1040 metres in altitude).
This village is the perfect result of the construction conjugating schist with quartzite.
A centuries-old chestnut tree guards the entrance to the village.
In Aldeia da Pena, on a hot summer day, the heat can be greatly mitigated by the coolness of the streams and the mountain air.
