Lousã Pillory
Booking
The Pillory, classified as a National Monument, was reconstructed on a stepped pedestal. It consists of a column made of red Alveite sandstone, topped with a pinecone, where human faces joined together can be seen.
Its restoration was carried out based on old graphic documentation collected by Álvaro Viana de Lemos, an illustrious resident of Lousã.
Serving its role as a representation of various powers, it was moved to the back of the Town Hall, where it remains to this day.
