Space of Mind Museum
Booking
Opened in 2015 by the Secretary of State for Culture, Dr. Jorge Barreto Xavier, it received the Integrated Access to Culture Award in 2016, along with the Biological Park of Serra da Lousã, as the first prize for social, intellectual, and physical accessibility.
Located in the Biological Park of Serra da Lousã, it is an ethnographic ecomuseum that aims to stimulate reflection on the human being, based on the "trinity" of body, mind, and spirit.
It presents a narrative that ranges from the emergence of life to the death of a person, evoking the demand for freedom. The first is the freedom to love, and the last, of the soul.
Along this path, the most common freedoms are presented: political freedom, freedom of thought, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, among others.
The collection gathered includes a display of representative pieces from traditional arts and crafts, daily experiences from other times, as well as the establishment of hubs (railway, JAE, cooperage, ecomuseum...), in addition to an active, attractive, and educational museological aspect, with workshop and restoration areas.
