The Mamoa of Penedinho Branco was the southernmost prehistoric megalithic funerary monument in the Iberian Peninsula, until the discovery of the Mamoa of Alqueidão and Mendroa (Abrantes), and it is integrated into the Baldios de Vila Nova (Vila Nova Commons).

The Baldios de Vila Nova (Vila Nova Commons) are located in the parish of Vila Nova and are considered the viewpoint of the municipality of Miranda do Corvo.

Covering approximately 600 hectares, they offer visitors stunning landscapes, exuberant fauna and flora, trails and walking routes.

The precious biotopes, natural areas of ecological value, host a large and diverse community of animals and plants.

To date, 103 species of terrestrial invertebrates, 5 amphibians, 4 reptiles, 21 mammals, and 48 plants have been identified
