PR4 - Walking along the River
Booking
This linear route, which implies returning along the same path, allows for constant interaction with the Alheda River and the Dueça River, in an educational process of discovering the past and current relationship between local populations and the river, their most precious resource, as well as the surrounding fauna and flora.
Starting near the Municipal Tourism Office, the route follows the right bank of the Alheda River along the wooden walkways of the Volta da Costa, crossing it at the confluence with the Dueça River. At the Panão Reservoir, the path leads towards the Parque de Lazer da Quinta da Paiva (Quinta da Paiva Leisure Park).
The route bypasses the Parque Biológico da Serra da Lousã (Serra da Lousã Biological Park). Upon reaching the end of the route, we can admire the Albarrol Reservoir, located in an exceptionally beautiful area that was once used to support agriculture and to water the Water Mills.
