Order

The APPACDM de Vila Nova de Poiares, is a non-profit private social solidarity institution, headquartered in Vila Nova de Poiares, district of Coimbra, whose area of intervention covers the municipalities of Vila Nova de Poiares, Penacova and all neighboring municipalities and has as its main objective the integration and habilitation of the Mentally Disabled Citizen.

It began its activity in October 1981, as the center of the then District Delegation of Coimbra.

In June 2000, after several changes to its legal structure, and with the integration of the Figueira de Lorvão - Penacova Center, it became an institution with financial, accounting and legal autonomy, through public deed.

It has cooperation agreements with ISS for the social responses Activity and Inclusion Habilitation Center, in Vila Nova de Poiares and Penacova, and Residential Home in Vila Nova de Poiares.

As community responses, it develops Professional Training for People with Disabilities and Impairments since 1990, and Center for Inclusion Resources since 2009.

The ancillary activities of Gardening and Laundry, constitute services it provides to individuals and companies, as well as Urban Waste Recycling, for which it has partnership with ERSUC-Central Solid Waste, SA and APIN-Intermunicipal Company of Pinhal Interior, EIM, SA.
