The Main Church of Poiares is dedicated to Santo André.
It is a well-proportioned and simple building.

The date 1744 is inscribed on the Tower on a centuries-old Sundial.
It underwent remodeling in the 19th century and significant intervention at the end of the 20th century.

It has an austere facade, featuring the main door with a curved pediment, a bell tower to its right with stonework on the corners and gable.
Inside, it has five altars: a main altar, two side altars, and two in the body of the building.
