The fountain on Dr. Pires de Carvalho Street was designed and created by Master Carlos Reis, an important painter and draftsman who left his mark on various public spaces in the municipality.
Built in April 1932 at the request of the Lousã Town Hall, it is also known as the "Fonte do Fundo da Vila" (Fountain at the Bottom of the Town), referring to the former of the town of Lousã.
