Convent of Santo António
Booking
The convent was founded in 1578, however, all of the buildings (church, residential area and outbuildings) date back to the 18th century.
In private hands since 1834, the year in which the Religious Orders were extinguished. The altarpiece in the main chapel, in a Mannerist style, has an excellent layout and good carvings.
Also worth mentioning is the set of tiles, from the 18th century and made in Coimbra, which feature panels reminiscent of passages in the life of Stº António.
As it is private property, it is only possible to visit the chapel by prior arrangement using the contact details provided.
