Chanca Viewpoint

The Chanca viewpoint, in the middle of Serra de Sicó and with a privileged view over the entire Rabaçal Valley, presents a surprising perspective. On clear winter days, we can see the white mantle of Serra da Estrela from there.

The limestone soils, arid and desert by nature, exhibit a predominantly low vegetation, where Santa Maria herb stands out, a wild thyme that determines the aroma and taste of the famous Rabaçal Cheese.

In these landscapes we can easily find small herds grazing.

The olive tree is, as in any Mediterranean landscape, a predominant element in these territories.
