Villa Romana do Rabaçal (Roman Villa of Rabaçal)

Booking

Located 12 km from Conímbriga, this Roman villa is located on a 'half-slope' in the parish of Rabaçal.

Dated from the 4th century AD, the ‘pars urban’ (residential area), the ‘balneum’ (bathroom), the ‘pars frumentária’ (agricultural courtyard with porch) and the ‘pars rustica’ (serfs' accommodation, warehouses and workshops) are known. Noteworthy are the figurative motifs in the mosaics and some geometric and vegetal compositions. Together they form a new stylistic group.

To visit the Villa Romana do Rabaçal, the visitor must first go to the Villa Rabaçal Museum Space, located in the center of Rabaçal, a space for preparing and contextualizing this visit.

The visit is accompanied by one of the museum's technicians.
